Making Links

How To Make Links

On this page, are instructions on how patients and their loved ones work together to create the link to the cure.

Materials:

To create the chain, the only materials needed are the following:

  • your choice of different colors of construction paper
  • an adhesive such as tape or glue
  • scissors

Steps:

  1. The first step to making your chain is to cut strips about an inch and a half thick and eight inches long. You should cut as many strips as treatment days.
  2. After your strips are made, you take one strip and bring the two ends together creating a loop. Slightly overlap your two ends, and then with your adhesive, glue or tape the two ends together.
  3. After your first link has been created, take a second strip of paper, and stick in through the center of the first link. Then like you did the first strip, take the two separate ends of the strip, and connect them with your adhesive. If done correctly, you should begin to have a chain link.
  4. With the rest of your strips, continue to do step three, putting your strips through the bottom link of your chain until you have created a complete chain.

Extras:

Some extra ideas to make your chain more useful are the following:

  • You can use several different colors of construction paper and create a pattern to make your chain look more lively and colorful.
  • You can mark the half way and quarter marks on your chain to make smaller milestones.
  • You can write quotes, jokes, sayings, drawings, etc on the inside of each link so you have a new surprise to read everyday when u rip each link off.
